About the program
Rappahannock Nature Camp has delivered a cherished summer experience to well over a thousand children since 1986. From its camp home just outside Sperryville, Virginia, the camp pursues a mission of helping children discover the wonder and beauty of the natural world for themselves, and understand what it means to be part of a community of living things. Campers spend their days on projects drawn from their own observations, create individual quiet spots in the woods, make music and art, and tell the story of each day together. The camp’s guiding idea is a simple one: nature lessons are life lessons. As a nonprofit, the camp runs a scholarship program so that cost isn’t what decides who gets to come. That means registration has to handle financial aid discreetly and give families a natural moment to donate.
How they use Camp Network
Scholarship awards are issued as coupon codes, so a family applies their award at checkout without it being visible to anyone else, and without a separate process to administer. Donations are collected in the same flow, which turns registration into a fundraising moment rather than a separate ask. The director also handles promotion directly from the platform, sending camp news by email and pushing it out to social media without moving between tools.
“It has saved a lot of time and eased our registration tremendously. Last year, our second with Camp Network, we had 50 percent more registration, and we gave almost twice as many scholarships as well. As the Director I can easily promote camp in email and on social media, and it’s a real time saver. We look more professional by using the platform. We also have received a good amount of donations to our nonprofit with registration.”
